About Dr. Patel
Dr. Payal Patel is the founder and lead pediatrician at Sunshine Pediatrics of Florida. She established the practice in May 2007, starting as a dedicated solo provider, and expanding it into a multi-location pediatric care home.
She has been practicing medicine for over 15 years as a Board Certified physician. Originally from Gujarat, India, she moved to the United States at the age of 12 and was raised in New Jersey. Dr. Patel is passionate about blending evidence-based Western pediatrics with integrative wellness, helping guide parents through the journey of child development.
Education & Training
Dr. Patel completed her medical education and pediatric training at top institutions, ensuring a solid foundation for caring for infants, children, and adolescents:
- Medical School: Ross University School of Medicine (Graduated 2001)
- Residency: Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey
- Board Certification: American Board of Pediatrics (ABP)
Personal Life & Interests
Dr. Patel is married to Dr. Pritesh Patel, an Internal Medicine and Geriatrics physician at SunMed Primary Care. Together, they have two active boys who keep them busy.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Patel has a strong passion for dance, fitness, and community health. She is a former Zumba certified instructor and is the founder and instructor of BollySoul Fit, combining Bollywood dance with high-energy cardiovascular fitness.
